Register to vote now!
The 2008 Election Year is a huge election for New York and the country. A wide variety of offices will be up for our vote, from the President to federal, state and local legislators. We must ensure that LGBT people and our allies get registered and go to the polls so our voices will be heard loud and clear on Election Day.
Voter Registration Deadline
In New York State, October 10th is the last day you may register to vote for the General Election on November 4th.
If you are not registered to vote, visit www.gaycenter.org/registertovote to register and mail out your voter registration form today. Remember your form must be postmarked and mailed no later than October 10, 2008.If you have become a naturalized citizen since October 10th, you may register in person at the board of elections up until October 24th.
You can always fill out a voter registration form on your next trip to The Center. Just pick one up and drop it off at the front desk or main office. Center staff will personally deliver voter registration forms to the Board of Elections up to 2:00pm on Friday, October 10. After that time, forms will be placed in the US Postal Service Mailbox through the end of the business day in order to meet the deadline.
