Join the Center's AIDS Walk Team on Sunday, May 17^th for the 24^th Annual AIDS Walk New York in Central Park.

Walk and Win!

Join the Center's AIDS Walk team and you could win two (2) roundtrip airline tickets on American Airlines.  The walker who raises the most money to support the Center's HIV/AIDS programs and services will win two (2) roundtrip tickets on American Airlines.*  Raise important resources to help support the Center's HIV/AIDS programs and services and you could win two (2) roundtrip tickets on American Airlines.  For 25 years the Center has been in the fight.  Why should you walk? Because AIDS is not going away.  AIDS still kills.  Every day, people are still infected with HIV.  Every day our community turns to the Center for suppport.   Below are some important statistics.You can learn more at cads.gov/hiv

In New York City:

• 102,404 people are living with HIV/AIDS in New York City (as of 12/31/07).
• 3,787 people were newly diagnosed with AIDS in New York City in 2007. That's 10 new diagnoses every day, and 6.7% of HIV diagnoses in the entire country.
• 69% of people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City are male.
• Of people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City, 45% are Black, 32% are Hispanic, and 21% are White.
• Since 1981, 159,741 people have been diagnosed with AIDS in New York City. Of those, 60% (96,379) have died.
