25 Years of Dance 208, aka Center Dance

MTV Real World Brooklyn’s Sarah Rice presents art exhibit at Center

From http://www.gaycenter.org/out Sarah Rice is a housemate on MTV’s Real World Brooklyn edition. She interned at the Center where she created and ran a free weekly art class called “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…Self-Image Awareness through Art.” The class was dedicated to the creativity of the human spirit and the process of healing by exploring the experiences and expectations of self-image in today’s culture. After the class there was a reception where the students exhibited their work to friends, family and housemates. Catherine Opie explains a lesbian washer & dryer

She told us it was her first time doing a presentation in an LGBT space. It was a fascinating evening in which she explained the background motivating much of her work. MTV Real World Brooklyn’s JD at Center’s Election Night Party

From http://www.gaycenter.org/realworld RSVP now for your opportunity to meet MTV Real World Brooklyn housemates at the Center this Friday, March 20th at 6:30pm. Housemate JD Ordonez interned at the Center doing advocacy work that focused on the Center’s Promote the Vote initiative that registered thousands of marginalized individuals in communities throughout New York City. The work culminated in an election night party that drew a huge crowd, including JD’s housemates. Spoiler – Obama wins. JD and his housemates are now members of the Center. Freedom to Marry Action

Marriage Equality Trip to Albany
