Scope and Content

The collection came to the Archive in 4 cartons. The cartons were arraigned with hanging folders with information stored in file folders inside the hanging folders. Each carton dealt with different segments of Kenneth L. Dawson's life. Mr. Dawson was a teacher, a Consultant, and the Executive Director of Seniors Action in a Gay Environment all of that information is reflected in this collection.

Bio

Kenneth L. Dawson served as Executive Director of Seniors Action in a Gay Environment [ SAGE ] until he resigned. He also worked for (4) four years as the Director / Coordinator of the Lower Division of the Calhoun School, a private school on the upper west side. During his life he worked as a teacher and toward the later years of his life he was a partner in Strub / Dawson Inc. A fundraising, workshop, lecture, consulting based company. He later used that knowledge and contacts to raise money for SAGE, and The Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center, Los Angeles. He was a founding member and served on the Board of Directors of The Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center, New York. He graduated in 1972 with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Antioch Graduate School, Yellow Springs, Ohio.
