Resentment Into Grace Workshop: A Day on Love and Action

Spiritual dis-ease is a hydra! It has many necks—but only one source--resentment! If you are ready to go for the jugular, bring your symptoms and your resentments to this workshop. Bill Wilson said: “Resentment is the number one offender… From it stem all forms of spiritual disease. When the spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically.” And from Nietzsche: “Resentment is the narcotic we cannot help desiring to deaden pain of any kind… We make evildoers out of our friends, wives, children and whoever else stands closest to us. I Suffer?

Moonfire Empowerment & Spirituality Network Events: Embarrassment, Shame, Humiliation & Mortification: The Killer Feelings

A workshop facilitated by Deborah Feller. There’s something about embarrassment and its sibling emotions that can drive a person to want to die or kill. Beneath much depression and rage lurk experiences of shame and humiliation. In this workshop, we’ll explore the connection between suicidal and homicidal feelings and those experiences. You’ll learn: how to identify feelings of embarrassment, shame, humiliation and mortification; what kinds of situations elicit them; how they can be useful; and what to do when in their grip.

This is a special event for LGBT single women and men who want kids... or have them already! Through a series of fun, enriching interactive exercises (think speed dating with soul) participants will meet and talk with many singles of the same sex, exchanging phone numbers with potential matches. Co-led by Ken Page, LCSW and Carolyn Farhie, LCSW, this is an event like no other: Time Out New York called it “The New-Craze Dating Event” so come judge for yourself!

Memorial for Robert Spellman

It is with unspeakable sorrow that we announce the passing of our friend, colleague and mentor, Robert Spellman.

Robert, who had been struggling with a number of illnesses for the past few years, succumbed in the early evening of Saturday, July 12th at the age of sixty. To distill Robert's association with GMAD to just a single job title would be like trying to describe a symphony in a single word.

Being in love with someone who has a different relationship style from yours can be challenging at best. But a great relationship is possible even when one partner is polyamorous and one is monogamous. In this follow-up to last year’s talk, facilitator/relationship coach Marcia Baczynski will further explore poly/mono pairings and how to make them work for everyone involved. How do you negotiate boundaries/agreements that work for both of you? How can each person be satisfied, fulfilled and thrilled within a poly/mono pairing?
