New NYS Law Allows Unmarried Couples to Jointly Adopt!

Chapter 509 of the Laws of New York State was passed into law on 9/17/10 allowing unmarried couples (including same sex couples) to adopt jointly in New York State. Work Undercover at Teen Tobacco Program

Are you between the ages of 15-17 years of age and attend school? The NYC Dept of Consumer Affairs Teen Tobacco Youth Program is looking to hire teens for their tobacco youth undercover operation program. All hours needed.  To apply, please visit www.nyc.gov/consumers and click on "Career Opportunities" or email your resume to youthenforcement@dca.nyc.gov.  Applications are now being accepted!


  • According to the New York Coalition Citizens Coalition for Children (NYSCCC) (2007), there are over 25,000 children in NYS Foster Care. Over 6,000 children have a goal of adoption and over 1,000 are legally free to be adopted. These children are waiting for homes.   • If your child is in the Foster Care System, The Child Welfare Organizing Project (CWOP) Road to Success program can help you get a college education. If you’ve ever been the subject of an ACS investigation, had children in the system, or been in a preventive services program, you are eligible to apply. If you are now a parent, but spent time in the system as a child, or are a kinship foster parent, you may also apply. For more details contact: Gemma at 212-348-3000.
