Attention LGBTQ Parents of NYC Public School Children!
Families is engaging in an ongoing conversation with the NYC Department of Education regarding safety and inclusion in our schools.
The passage of the Dignity for All Students act in Albany should have profound and far-reaching implications for NYC children from LGBT households. Come hear more information on these anticipated changes, and ask questions of real concern to our families, related to issues such as safety transfers and variances, progress on the shift to gender-neutral paperwork throughout the system, and specific problems (and your suggestions for their resolution!) in your children's own specific schools.
This is a great opportunity for our parents to be in direct dialog with DOE staff who can make change happen. Come advocate for your child, and, by doing so, for all our families! If you are interested in future meetings, contact centerfamilies@gaycenter.org or call 646-556-9297.
