Ben, former GIP policy intern:
"Working with the GIP provided me with professional experience, a supportive network, and a strong sense of purpose as a community member and activist."
Gender Identity Project (GIP) Services
The Center was founded back in 1983 and presently has more than 6000 visitors a week. Also, more than 300 groups call the Center home. The Gender Identity Project (GIP) was conceived of in 1989 in response to a number of our transgender and gender non-conforming members being unable to access services.
The GIP provides an opportunity for trans-identified individuals to interact with other trans-identified and allied service providers, who serve as both powerful role models as well as supportive agents in the process of normalizing a person’s trans-identity.
