Grief and bereavement in the LGBT communities can be a particularly painful experience as many of us have experienced the loss of family or friends when coming out and tremendous losses related to HIV and AIDS. We create families of choice in addition to our families of origin which may go unrecognized as devastating losses.

Center CARE offers New York’s first LGBT-identified bereavement services program where we affirm all of our communities’ relationships and attachments. We offer support and ways to commemorate and celebrate lives and legacies of all of our significant relationships – friends, family, and lovers.
