Center Recovery 2012 Groups
40+ in Recovery
A group for clients ages 40 and over only. Discuss topics related to this age group and being in recovery.
Mondays, 4 PM - 5 PM
Sex, Sexuality & Recovery
An elective group for people focusing on the connection between sex, sexuality, and substance use in their lives. Members discuss possibilities for sober, positive sexuality in an LGBT-affirmative and sex-positive environment.
Mondays, 12 PM - 1 PM.
Relapse Prevention
A required group for people who have completed Early Recovery and have at least 90 days of abstinence. Group members apply skills from Early Recovery to their daily lives and prepare for completion of treatment.
Tuesdays, 11 AM - 12 PM, Wednesdays, 6 PM - 7 PM.
Mindfulness
An elective group that creates a contemplative space to examine habitual reactions to thoughts and feelings, especially those that lead to substance use. Members learn useful stress and emotion management techniques to improve day-to-day functioning and prevent relapse.
Tuesdays, 12 PM - 1 PM.
Positive in Recovery
An elective group that provides a safe space for clients living with HIV/AIDS to explore thoughts & feelings associated with being HIV and staying sober.
Tuesdays, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
Emotional Wellness in Recovery
An elective group to work with anxiety, stress, depression, and other mental health concerns connected to or impacting recovery. Members discuss their current emotional state, gain insight, increase coping mechanisms, strengthen support networks and enhance well-being.
Tuesdays, 5 PM - 6 PM.
Crystal Meth
A required group for people working on abstinence from crystal meth. Group focuses on physiological, social, and emotional issues specific to crystal meth use, addiction and recovery.
Wednesdays, 12 PM - 1 PM.
Early Recovery
A required group for people in their first 90 days of abstinence. Members work together to strengthen abstinence, discuss the basics of addiction and recovery, and learn critical relapse prevention skills.
Mondays and Wednesdays, 11 AM - 12 PM
Creative Recovery
An elective group to explore their thoughts and feelings about addiction and recovery, and to identify options for a sober future. Members use art and other creative processes to generate new ideas and stimulate group dialogue.
Thursdays, 5 PM - 6 PM.
Managing Your Anger & Frustration
An elective group to help clients manage frustration and anger with confidence & improve personal relationships. Group has primarily educational and skills-building components.
Thursdays, 11 AM - 12 PM.
Orientation and Engagement
A required group that provides a program overview, including policies, expectations, and requirements in the CCR treatment program. Supports clients in resolving initial barriers to beginning treatment and connecting with program resources. Examines benefits of integrating self-help groups and outpatient substance abuse treatment.
Thursdays, 1 PM - 2 PM.
Relationships
An elective group where members examine the impact of their relationships on substance use and sobriety. Group members discuss relationships to self, to significant others and to the community, building awareness and skills to strengthen abstinence.
Thursdays, 12 PM - 1 PM.
Sex, Crystal Meth, and Recovery
A group for clients who are seeking to achieve a healthy integration of sex and intimacy in the context of recovery from crystal meth.
Fridays, 1 PM - 2 PM
Weekend Recovery Planning
A group for clients who want to strengthen their weekend relapse prevention skills. Members discuss the challenges and obstacles to weekend abstinence, create sober opportunities and develop a relapse prevention plan.
Fridays, 11 AM - 12 PM.
Women in Recovery
A group for female-identified clients to discuss issues relevant and applicable to women’s experiences in recovery, including but not limited to relationships, sex, sexism, ageism, low self esteem, and abuse.
Wednesdays, 1 PM - 2 PM
Health & Wellness
A required group for people in their first 90 days of abstinence. Group members gain information critical to getting well and staying healthy through recovery.
Mondays, 1 PM - 2 PM
Crystal Meth: The First 60 Days
A group for clients specifically designed to address the needs of those in their first 60 days of abstinence from crystal meth.
Fridays, 12 PM - 1 PM
Recovery Maintainance
An aftercare group designed for clients who have completed initial treatment plan goals and the relapse prevention group. Group members will apply skills acquired from earlier phases of treatment as they transition into a life of sustained recovery.
