Committee on Women, Population, and the Environment (CWPE)

The Committee on Women, Population, and the
Environment is an alliance of feminist activists that work to place the
problems of environmental degradation, conflict, and growing poverty in the
appropriate context.  CWPE goal is to
bring “feminist activism and analysis closer together at local, regional,
national and international levels, and to work in partnership with community
activists and organizations.”  To that
end, CWPE is currently working on projects to educate population and
environmental organizations, surveying secondary-school textbooks for
population and environment curricula, and opposing quinacrine chemical
sterilization.
