<b>Rights and safety for lesbians and their families</b>
A legal resource center for lesbians, The National Center for
Lesbian Rights works through a combination of litigation, public policy
advocacy, and public education to promote rights and safety for
lesbians and their families. Additionally, NCLR provides legal
support for gay men, bisexual, and transgender individuals when the
issues at stake also advance lesbian rights. Since 1977, NCLR has
seen a number of major victories at the state and federal level and has
brought the debate about lesbian civil rights to the forefront through
mainstream media.
