Second Tuesdays and the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation present "The Stonewall National Historic Landmark: 1969, 1999, and Beyond"
Reception 6pm, Program 7pm, $10
In 1999, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation co-sponsored the nomination of a Stonewall Historic District to the National Register of Historic Places, becoming the first site ever associated with LGBT history to be so recognized by the federal government. On the 10th Anniversary of the listing, this panel discussion will look back on this milestone and how it was achieved, and look ahead to further future possibilities for recognizing important facets of LGBT life and history in New York City.
