With roots in the elegant country dances of England, Contra Dance developed in the barns of colonial New England, where elegance was dropped in favor of a grittier, more ecstatic American style. Feel free to attend the beginner intro and pre-dance schmooze at 6:30. The caller for tonight is Marty Fager, with live music by Brazen Hussies. Everyone is welcome, experienced or not.
