The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the GLAAD Board of Directors, our Honorary Committee, Arts Advisory Committee and this year's Planning Committee invite you to join us for OUTAuction – ten years of celebrating established and emerging artists, while recognizing GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists.
Since 2002, GLAAD has produced an annual fundraising art event, OUTAuction, part glamorous cocktail party and part art auction. OUTAuction captures the perfect synergy between art, fashion and interior design. The event raises much-needed funds for GLAAD's ongoing work.
Since 2009 GLAAD has awarded GLAAD's OUT In Art award, given on the night of OUTAuction, this award is given to an artist or foundation for their unique and unwavering commitment to fairness, diversity and support of the LGBT community. Stay tune as we announce this year's recipient. In 2009 Ross Bleckner was the first recipient, followed by David LaChapelle in 2010.
On 11/20 you will have the chance to bid on 100 unique pieces of art. Previous artists whose art works have been auctioned off include Pablo Picasso, Herb Ritts, Steven Klein, Ryan McGinness, Wassily Kandinsky and Marc Chagall. Past artists include: Ross Bleckner, Patrick McMullan, Annie Leibovitz, Karim Rashid, Mario Sorrenti, Peter Max, Rosie O’Donnell, and many others.
