Garden Party 27 – Monday, June 21, 2010, 6 – 10 P.M. The only LGBT tasting event in the country will feature a record number of 50 restaurants and kick off Pride Week in NYC! Garden Party started in 1984 with 1,000 donors and friends and one catering company. This year, more than 2,000 friends and supporters are expected to flock to Hudson River Park's Pier 54 to celebrate Pride Week with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center and enjoy food and drink from a record number of 50 restaurants, caterers and food purveyors. Guests will enjoy dining "al fresco" on the pier, watching the sun set over the Hudson River, while enjoying an open vodka bar and bidding on a delicious dining package or two at the fabulous "Foodies" Silent Auction. For years, one of the most popular activities at this culinary event has been our "Foodies" Silent Auction. This year's auction is an epicurean's paradise with gourmet food baskets, wine classes and tastings, dinner and Broadway show packages - and so much more. The auction's premier package features Lunch for Four at Food Network and a taping of Iron Chef America! The Center is proud to welcome back longtime supporter Prudential as our Presenting Sponsor, and thanks all our corporate sponsors for their generous support, including Food Network, Diageo, Time Warner Cable and our corporate partner NYC & Company. As the only LGBT tasting festival in the country, Garden Party is a delicious beginning to Pride Week in NYC. For a full listing of the 50 participating restaurants and to purchase tickets, visit gaycenter.org/gardenparty27. Garden Party kicks off Pride Week in New York City and is the Center's largest annual fundraiser. The event raises much-needed funds that allow the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center to keep its doors open 365 days a year. Interview / Photo Opportunities: Select food participants will be available for interview; please inquire to the Center. High-resolution photos are also available and pre- and post-event.
