Position Title: Pride Intern (temporary)

Reports to: Director of Cultural Programs & Volunteer Management

Position Summary: The temporary Pride Intern will help develop and coordinate all aspects of the Center’s 2011 Pride activities in each borough of NYC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in the Development the Center’s 2011 Pride plan with input from the Director of Cultural Programs and the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Center’s Pride plan, marketing goals, and mission to the community.
- Assist in the recruitment and management of Pride volunteers.
- Attend all Center Pride events in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island and ensure accurate, complete, and positive representation.
- Assist in the evaluation of Pride activities and make recommendations for implementation in future years.
- Assist in the names acquisition initiative and other strategic initiatives.

Position Requirements:

- Experience in organizing, event production and/or volunteer management preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication, writing, and public speaking skills (bilingual a plus).
- Computer proficiency including MS Office applications.
- High sense of personal cause and commitment to the Center’s mission.
- Schedule flexibility a must.

This is a temporary internship. The duration will be June 2011 through August 2011.
