Get Ready, Get Set...Get Married!

Wedding Planning Do's and Don'ts; Hints and Tips for engaged (or soon-to-be) LGBT Couples of New York City

On Friday, September 30th, Center Speakers is hosting a special event for LGBT couples who are planning to get married, or at least thinking about tying the knot. Moderated by Scott Young, the Center's very own event expert, Get Ready, Get Set...Get Married! features a panel discussion that includes some of New York’s most prominent professional LGBT and allied wedding planners in the business.

The event will focus on the dos and don'ts for everything you might think of in planning your nuptials. The discussion will include how to avoid horrifying color combinations, how to find the perfect dress for your bridesmaids or groomsmen, where and when to find your caterer, and how to impress your soon-to-be in-laws. This event will share the real secrets to a traditional, modestly priced fancy and fabulous wedding.

Panelists include: Maya Kalman, Founder & CEO of SWANK Productions, who has been voted "Best of the Best" Event Planner by Knot Magazine. Shawn Rabideau, Founder of Shawn Rabideau Events & Design, who has been featured on Bravo TV’s hit reality series Bethenny Ever After and ABC’s Good Morning America. James Tramando, CEO of James Tramando Weddings & Events, who has been featured in TLC's Say Yes to the Dress.
