"Today, the Center applauds President Obama on his statement of support for marriage equality. On this historic day, LGBT Americans and our allies can celebrate this momentous occasion. For nearly thirty years the New York LGBT Center has been a place where our community has gathered to fight, to mourn, to mobilize, and to celebrate. We invite with you to celebrate with us on this special day.

"Having been the birthplace of and home to many organizations and individuals who have fought to make this day possible, we look forward to the next thirty years of remaining the cornerstone and the lifeline for LGBT New Yorkers. Every day we help LGBT homeless youth find community, LGBT people find health through recovery and help LGBT people begin families."

A beacon of hope for 29 years, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center builds and supports our community through arts and culture, wellness and recovery, family services and life-saving youth programs designed to foster healthy development in a safe, affirming environment.
