Cyclist Spin

Why We Ride...

Meet Bob and Beth - our resident Bike Safety Gurus, available for your Q&A on the event!

A little about them: Beth Katz and Bob Bagomolny have developed and organized rides ranging in size from 100 riders to 30,000.

In the past they have worked with The Missing and Exploited Children Foundation, The100 Mile Man Foundation, planning and overseeing their "City to Sands" ride, The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services, The Bike 4 Chai, as well as The Harlem Valley Rail Ride – just to name a few! Beth and Bob are accomplished cyclists themselves, and are certified as teachers by the League of American Cycling Instructors

. Rider safety and support are a priority at all their events. Ultimately, the feeling of personal physical accomplishment, combined with the deep emotions that result in helping others, are rewards in and of themselves. Beth and Bob are there to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and that riders have the support and encouragement to spin that extra mile.

Meeting Your Fundraising Minimum

As we enter the final weeks before the big event, we want to thank you for committing to the Cycle for the Cause fundraising minimums ($3,000 for riders 30 years old or older; $2,000 for riders 18-29 years old; $500 for all crew). Below are details on where you need to be in the fundraising process to participate in the ride.

• Each rider must be at 50% of the fundraising minimum by orientation day on Thursday, September 20, 2012. If you do not have at least 50% of the minimum requirement and you wish to participate in Cycle for the Cause, you must provide your credit card information and make a payment to meet half of the minimum (for example, if the requirement is $3,000, you must make a payment to bring your fundraising to $1,500).

. • Riders have 30 days from the end of the ride (Sunday, September 23, 2012) to reach the full minimum. If a rider has not reached the fundraising minimum through donations by October 23, 2012, your credit card will then be charged the remaining balance to meet the minimum.

• If you are not at 50% or have not reached your minimum and do not wish to participate in Cycle for the Cause 2012, you are not obligated to meet any requirement.

• If you have reached your fundraising minimum by Thursday, September 20 (Orientation Day) this does not apply to you. For questions or any further explanation please feel free to contact me at 646-358-1733 or mbeck@gaycenter.org.

Keep on fundraising and putting those miles behind you!
