JD's Advocacy Internship at the Center
JD focused on the Center's voting initiative, "Promote the Vote." He reached out to the New York City community by registering new voters and getting the word out about the importance of voting and making your voice heard. He followed up by developing and throwing the Center's Election Night Party on November 4. He also participated in organizing several of the Center's recreational events, such as the Center's "Dance 208," a bi-monthly dance party fundraiser. JD also wrote and presented an empowering and inspirational speech at the "Braking the Cycle" closing ceremony on September 28.
