Braking the Cycle Closing Ceremony Join us on the steps of the Center to welcome home the Braking the Cycle riders! At 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 26th, loved ones, family and supporters will gather outside on West 13th Street in front of the Center to welcome back the Braking the Cycle riders and the 50+ volunteer crew members who supported them for 285 miles! We are pleased to announce that Chely Wright will host and perform at the Closing Ceremony! Country singer/songwriter Chely Wright recently released her seventh album, Lifted off the Ground, on the same day as her new autobiography, Like Me. Wright has made her name as a commercial country singer, recording such modern-day classics as "Single White Female," "Shut Up and Drive” and “Jezebel.”
The program will begin outside at 5:00 PM, then we’ll continue the celebration inside the Center with a Victory Party and light refreshments. Braking the Cycle is a three-day bike ride from Boston to NYC that benefits the HIV/AIDS services of the Center. More than 120 riders will bike nearly 300 miles to raise funds for the important life-saving services at the Center. This important ride has raised more than $2 million dollars for the Center over the past seven years. |
