Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Garden Party 26. There has never been a more exciting time to support the Center! Garden Party 26 will be on Monday, June 22, 2009.

Important: To volunteer for Garden Party 26, you MUST be present at a Garden Party Volunteer Orientation (which will be held at the Center, 208 West 13th Street) on one of the following dates: Thursday, June 18th from 6:30–8:30 PM or Saturday, June 20th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.  This is true for new volunteers as well as those who have volunteered for Garden Party in the past.

Volunteer Shift Descriptions

Admission Ticket Sales & Will-Call/Ticket Pick-up: Sell tickets to guests. Cheerful, helpful, friendly, and positive attitude is essential. Eagerness to resolve any complaints with a smile is critical. Basic computer skills preferred (i.e. Excel, Word).

Barback: Work in a fast-paced bar area, replenish supplies, and lift heavy boxes and ice.

Bartender: Experience as a bartender mixing drinks in a fast-paced environment.

Coat Check: Check coats and packages.

Communications: Distribute headsets and batteries to event staff. Volunteers should be well organized, responsible, and reliable. Please Note: This is a slower paced activity.

Hosts: Collect tickets, hand out wristbands and programs, and escort guests across the West Side Highway. Requires an especially upbeat and friendly attitude.

Restaurants: Assist restaurants' staff with their needs. 

Silent Auction: Sell silent auction items, answer questions and assist guests in completing bid sheets and prevent theft of items. Good oral communication skills are necessary. Volunteers will be asked to stand for long periods of time.

Volunteer Café: Maintain the Volunteer Café.

Volunteer Check-in: Sign in volunteers, hand out t-shirts and wristbands.

Floaters: Assigned to help wherever needed at the event.

Event Set-up (Monday, June 22) Volunteers will be setting up for Garden Party. This will include moving and setting up tents, tables, and chairs. Volunteers will be required to lift, walk, and carry equipment during their shift. Lunch will be available.

Pre-Event Hosts (Monday, June 22)  Volunteers will assist with front gate security and line management before the beginning of the event.
